Dr. Ashifa Jiwa is a queer, gender non-conforming person dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for the queer and trans community. Dr. Ashifa Jiwa is a queer, gender non-conforming person dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for the queer and trans community. Dr. Jiwa graduated medical school in 2002 from Western University and completed her family medicine residency at the University of British Columbia in 2004. She completed her Emergency Medicine Certification in 2014. She holds a faculty appointment at the McMaster Medical School and she regularly teaches medical students and residents in the clinic and in the classroom. She has been practicing primarily in the area of gender affirming care since 2020.
Courtney graduated from Practical Nursing at Conestoga College on the Deans List in 2014. She maintains her registration through the Ontario College of Nurses. She has vast experience such as: Med-Surg, Mental Health, Stroke, Palliative care, Complex Care and Emergency Medicine. While not at the clinic she works part time at the hospital
Courtney graduated from Practical Nursing at Conestoga College on the Deans List in 2014. She maintains her registration through the Ontario College of Nurses. She has vast experience such as: Med-Surg, Mental Health, Stroke, Palliative care, Complex Care and Emergency Medicine. While not at the clinic she works part time at the hospital in the Emergency Department. With her vast knowledge and experience she will be able to guide you and help answer questions that arise. Courtney actively keeps up with her education and practice.
